Multi Brackets

Just as the name implies, the multi brackets are a bracket with multiple uses. Think of them as a multi-tool for your roof rack, these brackets allow you to link your roof rack to a variety of accessories, giving you more attachment points, more functionality, and versatility than ever before. Main highlights include:

  • Brackets attach to most roof racks. Not just Gamiviti, but these are a bolt-up to all of the extrusion and platform-based racks out there, as well as any other rack that uses 1” round tubing.

  • Brackets mount most awnings. Any awning out there with the smaller single slot or double slot extrusion will bolt right up, with adapter plates available to run the taller Batwing and Foxwing awnings.

  • Support to add a set of cross bars to your rack. Useful for some cargo boxes, rooftop tents, or carrying large boats & surf boards.

  • Mounts to factory Toyota racks! New in 2020 with the release of Gen2, you can use these brackets to add a small awning to your OEM roof rails.

  • Add an awning to your Yakima, Thule, Rhino, or other cross bars.

  • Attachment point for straps

  • Attachment point for Quickfist clamps

  • Create blocks to help secure cargo boxes.

Mounting options

Multi brackets can be mounted to just about every platform and extrusion roof rack out there, as well as welded racks like the Gamiviti… slots are provided in the base to mate with U-bolts or straight bolts, from a 1.5”-2” spacing. Additional holes in the center easily line up with the tracks found in all extrusion racks. And spacer washers can be used on Gamiviti rack plates to allow the bracket to sit up on the outer edge of the rack, necessary for awning mounting. Brackets can also be mounted to Toyota/Lexus factory side rails, specifically 80, 100, and 200 series Land Cruisers, 4th & 5th Gen 4Runners, and GX470. If you have one of those, and/or an extrusion similar to what is shown below, then these will likely work for you. These are not going to bolt up to a GX460 or LX570, as your factory rack rails are a different profile.

When installing to factory rails, it’s recommended that you also retain the cross bars, and position them as close to the brackets as possible. You can bolt cross bars to the brackets also if desired. This creates cross bracing between the two side rails, to minimize the lateral forces the wind is putting on the gear you’re bolting up. Periodically monitor your vehicle to insure your factory rack remains is good order, and your accessories remain securely fastened.

Use as an awning bracket

These multi brackets will replace the standard awning bracket, providing more functions and uses than merely holding the awning to your roof rack. Slots on the other wall provide the flexibility needed for most of the common extrusion-backed awnings, like ARB, CVT, Tepui, and Gamiviti, which is the size recommended for OEM rail applications. Holes on just about every side mate with standard Quickfist clamps for adding shovels & other accessories. Additional backing plates are offered to mate with the taller Rhino Foxwing and Batwing awnings. These brackets are not recommended for super heavy awnings, like the Alu Cab Shadow awning, for those we recommend the Megabracket.

You can see more information about how to use these Multi Brackets to attach an awning to factory side rails on the Multi Bracket Installation page.

Use as cargo blocks

Multi brackets allow you to create intentional areas on your rack to securely hold your cases and cargo boxes. Positioning them around the item creates “blocks” which prevent the item from sliding, and the strap mounts provide a very secure way to attach your straps around the gear.

Quickfist clamps

Add tools to your rack and get another use from your multi brackets by adding some original Quickfist clamps to the bracket. Once installed, you’ve got a new spot to add a shovel, axe, or other implement of overlanding to your rack setup.

Add a cross bar

Adding a set of cross bars to your roof rack gives you new advantages. Raising your RTT up about 3” makes it easier to reach under the tent to secure it to the cross bar, also attach the poles for the window eaves if you have them. And large items like boats, kayaks, surfboards and lumber can often be more easily transported on a pair of cross bars, compared to a single flat platform. Cross bars also make it easier to add some cargo boxes (like Thule or Yakima) as well as some bike racks. These multi brackets have been sized to accept standard Yakima bars, as well as 1.125” Thule or Rhino Euro bars, mounted with U-bolts.

Add more accessories to your OEM rack

When mounted to the side rails of your OEM rails, the top surface of the bracket has multiple holes and slots for you to add even more accessories, such as our traction ramp brackets. Additionally, there are holes throughout allowing you to add Quickfist clamps to the sides and top surface, opening up new possibilities to mount accessories to your factory side rails.

Batwing adapters

We can also supply adapter plates which allow you to use the Multi Brackets to mount a Rhino Foxwing or Batwing awning.
