Roof Racks - Typical Cost and lead time of a Roof Rack?

Most of the roof rack packages we make run about $1200. That includes a full Expo rack, 6 towers per side, hardware, fairing, some customization like a sunroof opening, side gussets, etc. Our standard lead time for custom built racks is about 6 weeks, a little faster in the winter and a little longer in the summer.

Roof Racks - how much is shipping?

About $400 usually. That includes a crating fee which covers most (not all) of the lumber costs to build your crate. Then there is freight shipping to either a freight terminal, business address, or residential address. All of this is itemized and you can book/pay for your own freight if desired.

Roof Racks - how much weight can it support?

Best answer is “more than you should put on your roof.” You should always keep your weight as low as possible, and also as low on the vehicle as possible, as too much weight on your roof can be dangerous. That said, these are not light duty racks. And they are certainly up to whatever combination of roof tent, tire, fuel, awning, traction board, gear case, firewood, jack, shovel, and solar panel combination you have in mind. But our recommendation will always be to keep the weight as low as possible, and how you load your rack is your resposibility. That said, we guarantee & warranty the structural integrity of the racks and towers forever.

Roof racks - different between Expo, Expo+, Expo++, Expo++?

Every rack starts out as a flat rack, with no Expo bar. The Expo bar then is an additional rail that runs across the front of the rack, then wraps around the sides, ending at one of several locations. Expo racks end above the front doors, Expo+ above the rear doors, Expo++ above the rear tires, and Expo+++ wraps around the back, with some variation on rain gutter racks with 4 towers per side.
